Summer Road Trip 2013 - Cantabria via Seignosse

The car, camping gear, and the open road, all the way across the country to Cantabria! We drove roughly 800kms through the spanish country side, spotting the odd Osborne bull perched on a hilltop.

Our journey took us across the boarder to the south west coast of France know as the Cรดtes d'Argent. There, we hooked up with my cousins and their friends and stayed a couple of nights at my cousin's boyfriend's family beach house. Bbqs and afternoons on the beach, evening sunsets, markets, and an evening trip to Dax to the festival there, reminicent of the Encierros in Pamplona, not too far away.

After a few days chilling in the french surf town, we hit the road again and drove back down into spanish territory, stopping off to check out some spectacular panoramic landsapes, stopping off in Santader for lunch.

We spent a few days at Camping Colombres just across the boarder in Asturias and spent a few days visiting the surrounding areas, including the surfers paradise of San Vicente de la Barquera, and the stunning mining cave known as Cueva El Soplao, which you access on this cute mining train and which showcases stunning stalagtites and stalagmites lit up in spectacular fasion, as well as fossilised amber.

๐ŸƒTIP: I highly recomend the Cueves El Soplau!
