Arbuciés in the province of Girona, east of the Montseny national park. This is where, like many other towns dotted around the region, they celebrate the Autmn with panache. Much like Halloween, for them it is a time for witches and pumpkins, but more emportantely, here the celebrate the Castanyada (Chestnut festval).
We decied to hit this town, because here they hold the Fira de Tardor (Autumn Festival) with market stalls, music and then the chestnut collecting which they then put in a giant metal tumbler bin and roast over an open fire for ages. The result, warm and tender chestnuts. Yum!
🍃 TIP: Be sure to nab yourself some chestnuts, they are worth the rate and very reasonably priced!
