In the town of Castellterçol, northwest of the Montseny natural park in the provence of Barcelona, holds a little known competition is held every year, that of Sheepdogs. The "Consurs de Gossos d'Atura", brings Shepherds from the south ofrance, and basque country together to compete and crown the fastest sheepdog to bring all the sheep into a pen.
It is facinating to see how the dogs respond to the different whistles of the Shepherd, and how the behave around the sheep.
This competition is very small but lively with food being sold in the form of a barbecue, and live music throughout.
